Confidentiality

I will issue a contract when you decide to work with me that will cover fully the boundaries and practice of counselling, this is a living contract that we can add to together or alter if there is a need.

Counselling is a confidential space with a few exception, the main one being the safety of yourself or others.  If at anytime there is safety concern for you or others we would discuss and how we make sure you or others stay safe. This might look like including your GP or local mental health team in the conversation to widen your support network and keep you safe.

 

GDPR General Data Protection Regulations 

In regards to personal data and the storage of your personal information, I adhere to GDPR policy.  Information that I might hold will be address, name and contact details such as email address and phone number, which will be held securely and password protected.  You have a right to see what information I hold and to request removal of the data. Client names are coded and any notes securely held.
